• Vienna State Opera has returned to performing live onstage. Maestro Philippe Jourdan will conduct all performances for several days, due to the illness of Maestro Franz Welser-Möst.
• Staatsoper unter den Linden: (1) Lohengrin: long-postponed premiere of live staging: Nov. 30, Dec. 4, 12; April and May, 2022. Title role: A. Schager; Elsa: E. van den Heever; cond. T. Guggeis; dir. C. Bieito. (2) April 2022: Festival Days (3) October 2022: Ring Cycle will be premiered. D. Barenboim, cond.; G. Cassiers, dir.
• Deutsche Oper Berlin: Ring Cycle, Jan. 4-9, 2022. Naxos will release the Ring Cycle in DVD or Blu-ray in Autumn 2022. New Meistersinger: June 2022, D. Runnicles cond.
• Semperoper, Dresden: Tannhäuser (S. Gould). Premiere: Jan. 8, 2022.
• Hamburg Staatsoper: Tannhäuser (K. F. Vogt). Premiere: April 24, 2022
• Leipzig Festival: "Wagner 22," June 20–July 14: performance of all 13 completed Wagner operas; cond. U. Schirmer. With many exhibits, musical salons, excursions, guided tours, symposia, and public viewings on the Augustusplatz.

• Hungarian State Opera: 2021-2022 season. Opera House is re-opening after a 5-year renovation. Parsifal (new production, Director: A. Almäsi-Tóth) and concluding their Ring production, begun in 2015. Dates to come.
• Opera Australia: Lohengrin: May 14, 17, 21, and 24, 2022 in Melbourne. Co-production with Théatre Royal de Monnaie (Brussels); Elsa: E. Magee, Lohengrin: R. Aronica; cond. T. Matheson.
• Brisbane, Australia, fully digital Ring Cycle, P. Auguin, cond.; C. Shi-Zhen, dir. Postponed twice, now planned for Dec. 1 through Dec. 21, 2023.
• Bayreuth Festival, 2022. New production of the Ring Cycle: P. Inkinen, cond., V. Schwarz, dir. Schedule to be announced in early 2022.
• Salzburg Festival, 2022 schedule, beginning July 18, has been announced. No complete Wagner opera, but 2nd acts of Parsifal and Saint-Saëns' Samson et Dalila, in juxtaposition, will be sung by E. Garança, B. Jovanovich and M. Volle; D. Barenboim conducting the Vienna Philharmonic.
