Founded in 1977, the Wagner Society of New York is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering the appreciation and performance of the works of Richard Wagner. As one of 130 members of the Richard-Wagner-Verband International e.V. and a sister society of the Richard-Wagner-Verband-Leipzig, we are part of a global network devoted to preserving Wagner’s artistic legacy. Our members – admirers, scholars, and performers alike – engage in a year-round calendar of events including lectures by leading Wagner experts, recitals and concerts, film screenings, book discussions, and social gatherings that celebrate Wagner’s music and influence. We offer opportunities to deepen one’s understanding of Wagner’s art, guided by our motto: to learn, to teach, to share.
