The Wagner Society of New York is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2026 Bayreuth Stipendium — a rare and prestigious opportunity for a young artist or cultural professional to attend the Stipendiaten Week of the 2026 Bayreuther Festspiele in Bayreuth, Germany.
This fully funded program, presented in partnership with the Richard Wagner Scholarship Foundation, offers a week of immersive cultural and artistic experiences at one of the world’s most celebrated opera festivals.

Participants will receive full reimbursement for travel, lodging, and meals, as well as access to exclusive events including artist talks, lectures, and cultural tours curated by the Foundation.
Who Should Apply:

Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old

Open to young artists, students, and professionals in the performing or visual arts

Past recipients have included vocalists, musicians, scenic designers, filmmakers, and arts administrators

Candidates should demonstrate a deep interest in Wagner’s work and the Bayreuth Festival from a broad, interdisciplinary perspective
