The Society created this award to honor individuals who have made major and lasting contributions to the performance and appreciation of Wagner’s music dramas in the U.S. Maestro James Levine was the first recipient of the Award, which he received in person.
Met Grand Tier Dinner. Society ticket holders for Das Rheingold in the 2nd and 3rd Cycles at the Met were invited to dine on the Grand Tier before the performance.
